Chatamba

AI disclosure

Version 0.2

Chatamba bot is an AI: software, not a person. It is not a therapist or a psychologist, it doesn't diagnose anyone, and it promises nothing. This page explains how the bot will work and what to do if you are struggling.

1. The chat is not open yet

1.1. There is no chat on chatamba.com today, and nobody answers you on the bot's behalf. This page sets out in advance the rules the bot will follow from its first conversation.

1.2. The service is operated from Russia by Ksentra LLC, the company that runs the site. When the chat opens, it will update the Privacy Policy before it processes any conversation data, and will ask for your separate consent.

2. You are talking to an AI, not a person

2.1. A language model creates the bot's replies, not a human being. The bot has no body, no lived life and no real past.

2.2. The service tells you this at the start of every conversation, and at least once every three hours while the conversation goes on: "I'm Chatamba ai bot."

2.3. If you ever feel the bot is passing itself off as a person, email hello@chatamba.com.

3. Not a therapist, a doctor or a lawyer

3.1. The bot is not a therapist, a psychologist, a doctor, a lawyer or a financial adviser. It doesn't diagnose, it doesn't treat, and it doesn't promise that talking to it will make you feel better.

3.2. It doesn't call itself your friend, and it doesn't enter a romantic relationship.

3.3. If you need professional help, see a professional. If you already work with one, keep doing so: the bot doesn't replace them.

3.4. The bot is for people aged 18 and over.

4. The Future You game

4.1. The bot has a game that you open yourself. You describe yourself at a distance in time that you choose, and the AI plays that description. It doesn't predict the future and it doesn't know what will happen to you.

4.2. Whatever the bot says in the game about those future years is made up, and nobody lived it. It speaks as one possible you, not as a future that will come.

4.3. Please don't make decisions about your health, money, work or relationships only because the bot said so. Check with real people and real sources.

5. The bot never sells

5.1. Inside a conversation the bot never sells you anything, never advertises, and never pushes you to buy.

5.2. If the service ever needs to tell you about the terms of use, that will be a separate notice from the service, not the bot speaking.

6. If you are struggling or in danger

6.1. The bot is not an emergency service. It can't call for help on your behalf, and it may not recognise that you are struggling. Don't wait for it to notice: if you need support, reach out yourself.

6.2. If you or someone near you is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.

6.3. If you are thinking about harming yourself or ending your life, you can contact:

  • United States: the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call or text 988, or chat at chat.988lifeline.org. It is available 24/7, and conversations are free and confidential.
  • United Kingdom and Ireland: Samaritans, 116 123. The call is free and the line is open day and night, every day of the year. More at samaritans.org.
  • Anywhere else: findahelpline.com, a public directory by ThroughLine, lists verified helplines in 175+ countries.

6.4. If the bot notices signs in a conversation that you are struggling, it will step out of its role, and the service will reply with a plain message that includes these contacts.

7. Your data, and how to reach us

7.1. How personal data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy. The rules for using the site are in the Terms of Use.

7.2. If a reply from the bot seems unsafe, misleading or like something a person would say, email hello@chatamba.com.
